And I last week asked me if I thought that the USC football should get to put the hammer down on them from abuses in the Reggie Bush era, and I wish all those who were for it. After learning this night would entail punishment, and I have other ideas on this issue.
ESPN broke the story on the sanctions USC. The Trojans will be banned for a period of 2 years of playing the season after, abandoning 20 scholarships and the confiscation of the 2004 national title. I asked myself the question is why kids on the current list for the punishment is something that happened while most of them in middle school?
I just do not think fair to punish the coaches and players for things they do not have control. I would of been happy with the USC to abandon a national championship and Reggie Bush to abandon Heisman Trophy], but the impact of the current program is not fair.
I'm not a big fan of USC because it is my play 2 favorite teams in each year (Notre Dame and Washington), but I must say that the NCAA gave the sanctions that do not fit the crime. I am sure Lane Kiffin can ride this storm, but that comes on something like this will take years to recover from the program.
I feel sad for the players in the list of USC now. They came to USC to play in the national headlines, and not to sit in the house after the regular season.
