The Road to Serfdom

I want to start in 1945. Sent the guns finally fell silent in Western Europe. The bombs stopped falling. The sky was no longer filled with screaming fighter aircraft. The invasions and fighting no more. He won the Allied forces, and World War II had ended. But this is far from over. Another war, and perhaps more importantly, it has just begun. Europe was decimated politically and structurally, and faced a difficult task to start again from scratch.

America was just one thought many of the Great Depression was caused by the evil, greedy capitalist. The question looming over one of the largest in many countries around the world: what to do from here? Should we risk the collapse of other economic, or should we allow the government to control the economy?

The decisive factor in the end the 'war after the war' came from a source is extremely unlikely: an economist is not known, originally from Vienna, named Frederick A. Hayek. We are at war similar today, but if you do not know history, you probably do not even know it.

Starting in the early 1940, Hayek began to write a small book called "road to serfdom." The book is clear, logical, and explained how any form of organization of the central government eventually lead to serfdom (or slavery), and fall of freedom. He did not think he will get any wealth or fame of the book, in fact, quite the contrary. This material such as banned in Germany and elsewhere. His writing only because it considered that "duty, I must not run away." See, there is a real possibility that Europe and America to move in this direction. After all, has been in England with the Fabian socialists.

Who are the Fabian Socialist? People like George Bernard Shaw, which we have shown you in a documentary we have, "Holocaust" Revolutionary. Was Fabian socialist, give you a little taste of what they believe. Here is the following:

(Begin clip)

George Bernard Shaw: I do not want to punish anyone. But there are an unusual number of people who want to kill ... i But we must be clear to you all ... You must know every half a dozen people at least who do not benefit in this world ... Who are more difficult than it is worth.

(Clip end)

Hayek can not live with himself if I did not write what he was thinking. He wrote the book at the beginning of the Britons, because we can see those who are in bed with. He felt the way they were traveling to the bottom. He had no idea of ground he took off along the lines of what I did. And boy, it is to take off. After initially not being able to find a publisher, and the depletion of the first edition of 2000 copies immediately, and within six months more than 30,000 books were sold. The publishing houses of America skeptical. They did not think it'd work. Ironically, they tried to get Walter Lippmann code out of the work of an introduction to the book, indicating that they want to sell thousands if he did, maybe 900 if it does not. Lippmann was not able to write.

He said the book in six appearances in the first 16 months, and translated into several foreign languages, and circulated both openly in the free world and under the ground in the emerging Iron Curtain. It took just after the Reader's Digest published a condensed version of the book in 1945. The summary of the reader at the time of circulation of more than 5 million copies, and made the magazine a little bit to all U.S. troops, at home and abroad.

Why do people love about this book? People understood - Hayek such claims as follows: "A man does not and can not know everything, and when he acts as if he did not and disaster follows," make good, common sense. Hayek pointed out that capitalism is the only system of the economy is compatible with human dignity, prosperity and freedom. He demonstrated that planned economies, which tried to control the nature of man through the administrative rules impossible task, and can only lead to one of serfdom: the results.

And the spread of the message such as ripple on a pond. Quickly erased such terms as "collective" of the political debate, and defend any person planning the central government and its credibility.

This book is like Mike Tyson (in the link to him) prime minister the right to socialism in Western Europe and the United States. But their impact does not stop at this point. Has inspired and political and economic leaders over the decades since then - most notably Ronald Reagan. Hayek praised the Reagan often talked about when people wake up to the dangers of big government. This leads us to today.

We were on the right track, but obviously we have fallen off the wagon. A few years ago began to ask, How'd we get here? How did this happen to us? No one may answer. I started reading history, and it does not take long for me to realize that we ourselves are completely separate from history, which makes us incredibly vulnerable to repeat mistakes of the past. Take a look at what we do! We have a company of government cars and government-owned banks, we're talking about oil companies, government is the recruitment of all workers. We are there, gang! As clearly demonstrated by Hayek, and this path leads only to a single hand.

I must admit, the first time I saw this book made it fun. I've read the roots of modern liberalism and Woodrow Wilson - this is not enough to make you want to hang yourself - I was not about to put myself through the "road to serfdom." But there is a reason this book was banned in places such as Germany and the Soviet Union.

I'm about to occur with a person who lived it. Read this book at risk of seven years in prison. If you are caught giving this book you get 12 years with hard labor - a certain death sentence. Why do not you want people to read it? They know whether people on the arrest of these tyrants what they were doing, I'd be more.

Now, we do not ban books and called the sentences of hard labor, but I want to show you something and we're doing for me is pretty shocking. Here's a publisher to sell copies of the Constitution. But look at what comes with it: "This book is the product of its time and does not reflect the same values as if they were written today ... parents may wish to discuss with their children and their views on how to race, sex, life changed nationality, race, relations between persons for Books this book before allowing them to read this classic work. "

There is a war on the future of this country. It's currently being waged. Can always be questions for the future can be answered with the information, and glory, and the mistakes of the past. Let us give you a choice today - along with capitalism bad, let's go to global governance and control through a progressive giant monolith. If you do not know things no one is willing to teach day ... There will be more of a disclaimer on the Constitution
